Fingo Africa is a digital bank for young Africans, addressing barriers such as lengthy account opening, transaction fees and the need to use multiple institutions for everyday banking. It is regulated by the Central Bank of Kenya, operates under Capital Markets Authority oversight for investments, and holds funds with Ecobank.
The mobile app provides a personal account with peer-to-peer transfers, local bank transfers, M-PESA wallet transfers, bill and goods payments, airtime purchases, salary deposits, and request links or QR codes. It includes Interest-Earning Savings with savings goals, virtual prepaid cards with freeze and delete controls, budgeting, spending analytics, Fingo Coins rewards, and financial literacy trivia. Security features cover KYC verification with liveness checks, biometric authentication, PIN access, single-device login, real-time notifications and card freezing. A physical debit card, business account and hustle account are listed as coming soon, alongside Islamic Banking and an API for developers.
