FileBot

The ultimate TV and Movie Renamer

Visit FileBot

FileBot renames and organizes movies, TV shows and anime by matching media files against online databases such as TheMovieDB, TheTVDB and AniDB. It can download artwork and cover images, fetch subtitles from OpenSubtitles, and structure files for media centers like Plex, Kodi and Jellyfin. Naming schemes are customizable, with support for MediaInfo, and rename operations can be reverted using an internal history.

Beyond media files, FileBot renames music using ID3 tags or AcoustID, photos using Exif metadata, and arbitrary files via custom pattern matching or AI prompts. It includes a command-line interface and scripting engine for automated workflows, including the amc script for extracting archives, organizing files, fetching metadata and updating Plex. Additional capabilities include subtitle viewing, transcoding and encoding fixes, checksum computation and verification, directory tree comparison, and batch extraction from archives and ISO images.

FileBot runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, FreeBSD, Synology and QNAP NAS devices, with packages available through native installers, APT, DNF, ZYPPER, winget, scoop, brew cask, Snapcraft, AUR, Docker and unRAID. It is licensed per user with a one-year universal license or a lifetime universal license, both covering all platforms and multiple machines. Microsoft Store and Mac App Store purchases are handled separately.
