ezBookkeeping is an open source, self-hosted personal finance application built with Golang and Vue.js, designed for tracking transactions, accounts, and categories on your own server. It supports SQLite, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases and runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux across x86, amd64, and ARM architectures, with Docker support for deployment on home servers, NAS devices, and Raspberry Pi.
Core capabilities include two-level accounts and categories, tags, scheduled transactions, image attachments, location tracking, and advanced filtering through the Insights Explorer module, which supports combining conditions with logical operators and exporting results. AI features cover text and receipt image recognition, custom chart generation, and integration via Model Context Protocol (MCP), Agent Skill, and API command-line tools. The app supports multi-currency and multi-language use with multiple exchange rate sources, and imports data from formats including CSV, Excel, OFX, QFX, QIF, IIF, Camt.052, Camt.053, MT940, GnuCash, Firefly III, and Beancount. Security options include two-factor authentication, OIDC external login, login rate limiting, and application lock via PIN or WebAuthn.
ezBookkeeping is released under the MIT License and is suited for individuals who want to host their own finance data. It offers desktop and mobile interfaces with PWA support, dark mode, multi-user support, HTTP API and CLI access, and customizable overview layouts.
