Email on Acid is an email pre-deployment testing platform that helps marketers and developers check how HTML emails will render before they are sent. It previews messages across 100+ email clients and devices, and runs content checks for accessibility, links, images, HTML code, and spam-related issues. The platform is being succeeded by Mailgun Inspect, which integrates these QA capabilities into the Mailgun platform for managing the email lifecycle from pre-send testing through delivery and post-send analysis.
Core capabilities include email previews, image validation, link validation, accessibility checks aligned with WCAG 2.2, HTML code analysis, and content spam analysis across major ISPs with B2B and B2C delineation. API access is available, and the platform supports white label previews and enterprise solutions. Security features include screenshot authentication with time-rotated URLs, two-factor authentication, and customizable user permissions. The platform is certified under ISO 27001 and ISO 27701, SOC 2 Type II, and GDPR compliance.
Email on Acid is packaged as Basic, Premium, and Contract editions, each with unlimited user seats and a monthly preview allotment, with overages charged per preview. A free trial is available for the Premium edition, and the Contract edition uses custom pricing. The platform is sender-agnostic and can be used with any email service provider, though sending email via SMTP or API requires a separate service such as Mailgun Send.
