Divergent Media

Divergent Media is an independent software company that builds tools for monitoring, quality assurance, and acquisition in video production. The company has spent more than two decades developing video production software for macOS, addressing tasks such as converting camera footage into editorial masters or proxies, checking signal quality, and playing back video with LUT support.

Its apps include EditReady, which converts a wide range of camera formats into editorial masters and proxies; ScopeBox, a software scopes tool with support for third-party capture devices, NDI, file-based playback, and plugins for major NLEs; and ClipWrap, a generation-less rewrap tool for HDV and AVCHD footage. Other projects include Phosphor, a video encoder and playback framework for JavaScript, and OneLight, a lightweight video player with LUT support. The company has also produced custom video applications for corporate, sports, and medical contexts.

Divergent Media targets assistant editors, DITs, colorists, and single-person productions, among other video professionals. All of its commercially available apps have been acquired or discontinued, and the company is exploring new opportunities, primarily in the immersive video space.
