camelAI provides an open-source home for AI agents, giving them a persistent computer environment so files, databases, and history carry over between sessions. Its two products are camelCode, an AI coding assistant that builds and publishes full-stack apps, and camelRun, a hosted runtime for running AI agents. Both can be self-hosted or used via hosted versions.
camelCode builds frontends, backends, and databases from plain-language descriptions, deploys them to a live URL, and supports scheduled automations, dashboards, and data analysis across Postgres, Snowflake, and BigQuery. camelRun lets developers define an agent's model, instructions, tools, and channels such as Slack, email, and GitHub, with SDKs for TypeScript and Python and React chat components. Both products support models from Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, and Amazon Bedrock, as well as OpenAI- or Anthropic-compatible endpoints like vLLM and Ollama.
camelCode is aimed at builders creating apps, internal tools, dashboards, and automations, and is available on free, Starter, and Pro plans with varying workspace, storage, and cron job allowances; the free plan requires no credit card. camelRun targets developers embedding agents in their own products and bills by active agent-hour plus storage, with model usage through your own provider keys or at the provider's list price.
