Bitmessage
Bitmessage: P2P encrypted messaging protocol for individuals and subscribers.
Bitmessage is a decentralized, trustless peer-to-peer communications protocol for sending encrypted messages to an individual or to many subscribers. It is designed so that senders cannot be spoofed through strong authentication, and it aims to hide non-content metadata such as sender and receiver from passive eavesdroppers.
The open source PyBitmessage client is written in Python and requires PyQt and OpenSSL. It is available for Windows in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, for OS X, and as source code that can be run on Linux, Windows, or OSX. The source is hosted on GitHub, and the wiki provides an API reference, compiling instructions, and contribution guidelines for code and translations. The project also maintains a whitepaper, a forum, and a community discussion channel.
The client is distributed free under the MIT license.
