Apache Flume

A distributed, reliable service for efficiently collecting and aggregating data.

Visit Apache Flume

Apache Flume is a distributed service for collecting, aggregating, and moving large volumes of log and streaming event data. Its architecture is based on streaming data flows, with an extensible data model that supports online analytic applications. The service is designed to be robust and fault tolerant, with tunable reliability mechanisms and failover and recovery options.

Flume includes sources, channels, and sinks for moving events through a pipeline, with Kafka source and sink support that can pass Kafka timestamps and headers. Configuration can be retrieved from remote sources such as a Spring Cloud Config Server, and composite configurations are supported. A LoadBalancingChannelSelector is available, along with interceptors for modifying event headers, netcat UDP and TCP sources, Taildir source, and support for environment variables in configuration files. SSL/TLS support and configuration filters for injecting sensitive values are included, and Flume can be deployed as a Spring Boot application.

Flume is intended for teams that need to move log and event data between systems in a distributed environment. It is available as open-source software through the Apache Software Foundation, with releases distributed through the project's download page.
