Almond

A dual-arm robot for builders working on physical AI

Visit Almond

Axol is a dual-arm robot from Almond, assembled in the USA, aimed at contact-rich bimanual manipulation, robot learning, VR teleoperation, and data collection. It features two independent 7-DOF arms with 860mm reach, 6.5kg peak payload per arm, and a 500Hz control rate, with internally routed wiring and FAKRA GMSL 2.0 passthrough for wrist cameras. It runs from a Linux machine over USB-C using Python 3.12 or newer.

The platform ships with an open-source Python SDK and CLI providing bimanual IK, a CAN motor interface, ZED camera streaming, LeRobot bindings, a joint tuning toolkit, and a web control panel. WebXR VR teleoperation streams hand and elbow poses over WebSocket with data collection, DAgger correction, and recording modes. Optional hardware includes the Jelly Mobile powered base, Mantis UMI handheld data collection grippers, camera kits, and NVIDIA Jetson compute options.

Axol is offered as a configurable purchase with mounting, cameras, compute, and headset options, alongside a gripper-free variant. Related products include Jelly Mobile and Mantis UMI, each sold separately. Services cover customization, data collection priced per hour of usable data, and on-site repair for SF Bay Area deployments, with pricing on request.
