Zigo
Learn Chinese through character decomposition
Zigo teaches Chinese characters by decomposing them into meaningful components rather than memorizing strokes. Search any character, word, pinyin or English meaning to see its building blocks, the reason it means what it means, and a mnemonic hook. Built-in spaced repetition schedules saved characters for review. The Zigo Reader snaps photos of Chinese text (textbooks, stories, chat threads) and converts them into readable, tappable text with per-character breakdowns. Founded by a solo founder; dictionary data builds on the open CC-CEDICT project, stroke-order data from Make Me a Hanzi, and word frequency rankings from wordfreq.
