YouTube Vanced

A better version of the stock Android YouTube app with ad blocking and background playback

Visit YouTube Vanced

YouTube Vanced is a modified version of the official YouTube app for Android. It addresses limitations of the standard app by adding features such as ad blocking, background playback, and Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode for devices running Android 8.0 and higher.

The app includes several modules and customization options. Its main features are an AMOLED dark mode, swipe controls for brightness and volume, auto-repeat, and the ability to toggle UI elements like comments and the mini player. It offers codec overrides (H.264 or VP9), default resolution settings, and playback speed control from 0.25x to 2x. Additional capabilities include SponsorBlock for skipping in-video sponsors, intros, and outros, as well as Return YouTube Dislike to restore the dislike counter. The Vanced Manager app is used for installation and updates.

YouTube Vanced is designed for Android users who want more control over their YouTube experience. It is available as a free download through the Vanced Manager, which also provides access to Vanced Music, a similar modification for YouTube Music. The product is not available on official app stores and does not offer paid plans or editions.
