XYplorer is a portable file manager for Windows that provides tabbed browsing, file search, previews, an optional dual pane, and scripting to automate repetitive file-management tasks. It runs without installation, storing settings in an application data folder so it can be carried on an external drive.
Core capabilities include tabbed browsing with tab sets, a Live Filter Box, Mini Tree, breadcrumb bars, custom columns, queued file operations, batch rename with regular expressions, and a file search supporting Boolean logic, content search, and duplicate file and image finders. Previews cover image, audio, video, web, office, and font formats through a preview pane, floating preview, and hover box. The interface is customizable down to fonts, colors, toolbar buttons, and dark mode, and scripts run without plugins. It supports 30 interface languages and runs on Windows XP through Windows 11, 64-bit only.
XYplorer is aimed at Windows users who want a lightweight, configurable alternative to the built-in file manager, including those migrating from orthodox dual-pane tools. A 30-day free trial is available. Licenses are per person and cover all of the user's computers, with a Standard edition including a year of upgrades and a Lifetime edition including upgrades indefinitely; site licenses are offered for larger deployments, with an Enterprise edition adding enterprise features.
