Whimsical
The whiteboard for product builders
Whimsical is a collaborative whiteboard tool for designing and documenting product work on an infinite canvas. It addresses the need to capture ideas, map out interaction flows, and iterate on UI concepts in a shared space where teams can work together in real time. Boards support diagrams, flowcharts, mind maps, and wireframes, with comments for focused discussion, version history for restoring earlier states, and image and video uploads for context.
Core capabilities include drag-and-drop wireframe components, a template library, and Whimsical AI for generating diagrams, brainstorming, and organizing information. Integrations cover ChatGPT, Claude Code, Claude Chat, Codex, Cursor, Grok, GitHub, Linear, Notion, Obsidian, Google Docs, Slack, and Jira, along with a Whimsical MCP server for creating content from MCP clients. Boards can be embedded in tools such as Asana, Confluence, Trello, and Zendesk. Authentication options include Google SSO, SAML 2.0, and TOTP two-factor authentication.
Whimsical is aimed at individuals, small teams, and larger organizations. It is packaged as a seat-based model with a Free plan, a Pro plan for individuals and small teams, and a Business plan for larger teams, with viewers and guests free on all plans. Annual and monthly billing are available, and additional AI credits can be purchased separately.
