Webhound is an autonomous research tool that takes a question and a spending limit, then follows leads and checks sources until the budget is exhausted, returning an answer together with the evidence behind it. It is designed to be called by an agent and left to run, or driven directly through an interactive interface.

It can be operated through MCP and API for agent-driven pipelines, returning structured JSON, or through a UI where users can steer a run mid-flight, verify claims, and share results. Outputs include cited long-form reports exportable to Word or HTML, sourced datasets in CSV, JSON, or Excel, and machine-readable claims carrying source, quote, confidence, and tool-call traces. The Hound 1.0 research harness runs on DeepSeek V4 Pro and GPT-5.4 and works as a tool call inside Claude Code, Codex, Manus, and other MCP clients.

Webhound is built for researchers, operators, and developers who need deep, sourced answers rather than top-of-page search results. It is packaged without a subscription or seats: users set a dollar budget per run and pay for research actually done, with token-based rates for input and output. New accounts receive a free run credited at signup.
