SimpleLogin
Open source anonymous email service.
SimpleLogin is an email alias service that lets users share alias addresses instead of their real email address. Messages sent to an alias are forwarded to the user's inbox, and replies are sent from the alias so the real address remains hidden. The project began in 2019, SimpleLogin SAS was created in 2020, and SimpleLogin joined Proton in early 2022. The service is open source and can be self-hosted.
Core capabilities include alias creation and management, sending and replying from aliases, custom domains with catch-all support, on-the-fly aliases via subdomains and directories, multiple mailboxes, and PGP encryption. It is available through a website, Chrome, Firefox and Safari extensions, and iOS and Android apps. Account security supports TOTP and WebAuthn (FIDO) two-factor authentication. SimpleLogin also functions as an identity provider with OAuth libraries.
SimpleLogin is offered as a Free plan with 10 aliases, one mailbox, unlimited bandwidth, browser extensions, mobile apps, and Proton Pass free features. The Premium plan adds unlimited aliases, custom domains, catch-all, reverse-alias sending, subdomains, directories, unlimited mailboxes, PGP encryption, and Proton Pass premium features. Premium is billed annually or monthly.
