Rosebud Biosciences

Discover Cures for Genetic Diseases with Rosebud Biosciences

Visit Rosebud Biosciences

Rosebud Biosciences is an early-stage startup developing therapies for rare genetic diseases in children. It models human development using organoids that carry the same gene mutation as the child, then screens drugs in these models to identify potential treatments. The approach targets genetic diseases that currently lack approved therapies.

The Organoid Platform uses micropatterned, circular "2.5D" organoids differentiated from disease-specific Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (hiPSCs), containing multiple cell lineages without complex biopolymer matrices. Available models include cardiac, hepatic, and neural organoids, with kidney organoids in progress. Organoids are longitudinally monitored via live-cell brightfield microscopy, complemented by biomarker monitoring such as immunostaining, secreted protein ELIsAs, and calcium assays. The platform supports screening of small molecules, RNA therapies (ASOs, siRNAs), CRISPR and other gene therapies, and immunotherapies, scaled with robotics and machine learning.

Rosebud is seeking pharmaceutical partners working on heart, liver, neural, or kidney disease drug therapies to apply its mutation-specific organoid platform within their drug development programs.
