Replicant

A fully free Android distribution running on several devices, a free software mobile OS

Visit Replicant

Replicant is a free software mobile operating system based on LineageOS that replaces or avoids proprietary components such as user-space programs, libraries and firmwares. It aims to be an ethical system that does not ship or recommend non-free software. Founded in 2010, it is a community-led project driven by a small number of developers.

Replicant runs on several devices, with support varying by device; basic features such as graphics, sound and telephony are expected to work where applicable. Components outside the system, including bootloaders, firmwares and modem operating systems, may still be proprietary. The project provides documentation, a wiki, forums and a tracker, and releases are based on Android 6.0. Replicant is free software, with no paid editions or seat-based licensing mentioned.
