MoDeck

MoDeck is a template editor and render coordinator that turns After Effects MOGRTs into controlled browser-based video templates. A template owner defines which text, media, colors, numbers, and choices can change, while editors supply content in a browser without After Effects or access to the project file. It is designed for repeatable video versioning rather than freeform editing or cloud rendering, with finished videos rendered through After Effects on the owner's own machine.

The workflow spans After Effects, a desktop app, and a browser editor. Owners create MOGRTs with editable controls in Essential Graphics, sync them through a named folder, and publish controls online. Editors work in the browser, either by hand or through data-driven batches from CSV, Google Sheets, or JSON. The desktop app assembles edits in After Effects, renders them, and can return finished files. Capabilities include Sequence and Journey browser editors, template logic and predefined sequences, scheduled data-driven renders, text-to-speech generation, API access, template sharing by email invitation, Magic Links for account-free editing, editor embedding, custom editor branding, and custom notification emails.

MoDeck is packaged as a free 15-day trial with no card required, followed by Pro and Enterprise subscriptions billed monthly or yearly. Pro is aimed at individuals and smaller teams, while Enterprise supports larger, branded workflows. Plans differ in template limits, invited editors per template, MOGRTs per template, batch sizes, connected desktop render apps, and access to advanced features such as unlimited API usage, reusable editor groups, and custom notification emails.
