Magenta

Magenta is an open source research project that examines how machine learning can support creative work, particularly music and art. It provides models, tools, and experiments that let people generate, transform, and perform audio and visual material, with an emphasis on interactive and real-time use rather than only offline generation.

The project includes Magenta RealTime 2, an open model and real-time neural synthesis engine for building and playing AI musical instruments on a laptop. Related tools include Magenta Studio, a collection of music plugins for Ableton Live that can also run as standalone native apps; DDSP-VST, a DAW plugin for real-time audio morphing with MIDI support; The Infinite Crate, a DAW plugin prototype built on the Lyria RealTime API; and Listen to Transformer, an app for exploring and curating samples from a piano transformer. The Infinite Crate is released under the Apache 2.0 license, and the project links to GitHub for source code.
