m23 is an open-source software deployment and management system for Linux, licensed under the GPL. It lets administrators install, configure, and manage Debian, Ubuntu, and Linux Mint clients from a web browser, covering both new bare-metal installations and the integration of existing Debian-based systems. Group functions and mass installation tools support routine tasks across many clients, while client and server backup and recovery features help avoid data loss.

Administration runs entirely in the browser, with authentication and SSL securing communication. Clients are set up in three steps: entering network and user details, partitioning and formatting with optional software RAID (levels 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, and 10), and installing additional software. User accounts can be managed through LDAP, FreeIPA, or UCS, with NFS for home directories. The system includes a package builder, pool builder, package dependency checks, package caching, package selections, a script editor, configuration management, BitTorrent-based file transfer, imaging, client virtualisation, a rescue system, and server-side tools such as a variable firewall and IP manager. Graphical desktops range from KDE, GNOME, Xfce, LXDE, LXQt, Budgie, MATE, TDE, and Cinnamon to plain X or no desktop for servers.

m23 is aimed at administrators managing fleets of Linux clients. It is distributed as free software under the GPL, with commercial support, development, and training available separately.
