Kolab Now
Secure and Private Email, Calendars and More
Kolab Now is a hosted communication and collaboration suite that brings email, calendars, contacts, tasks, notes, file storage, video conferencing and collaborative document editing into one service. It is designed for people and organizations that want to keep their data private and under their control, with hosting on dedicated hardware in Switzerland and a foundation built on free and open-source software.
The service includes email aliases and identities, full-text search and tagging, spam filtering, anti-virus protection, PGP end-to-end encryption, and support for bringing your own domain. Calendar and task tools cover meeting scheduling, recurring series, task assignment and progress tracking, with timezone support. Collaboration features include shared folders, calendars and task lists with granular access control, collaborative editing of office documents and presentations, and personal video conferencing rooms. Clients can synchronize through Android and iPhone, or use third-party clients such as Thunderbird, Outlook, eM-Client, Apple Mail and Apple Calendar, with support for IMAP, SMTP, Sieve, CalDAV, CardDAV and ActiveSync.
Kolab Now is offered as a monthly subscription with a 30-day trial. Two editions are available: a base package covering secure email, support, private meeting rooms, mobile access and 5 GB of storage, and a full package that adds the calendar, tasks and notes suite, file storage with webmail integration, collaborative document editing, and mobile access over ActiveSync or CalDAV/CardDAV. Plans can be adjusted or cancelled at any time, and additional users can be added to an account.
