Free Photo Gallery Software for Any Website
jAlbum is a cross-platform desktop application for Windows, Mac and Linux that turns images and videos into web galleries. Users drag and drop media into the app, press Make to batch-process and generate web pages, then upload the result to their own site, a blog, or jalbum.net storage. Galleries are built without server-side scripting and work within the user's existing folder structure.
The software includes a built-in image editor with crop, straighten, gamma and level adjustments, filters, batch watermarking, and caption editing, plus an image organizer that sorts files by date, name or GPS location and removes duplicates. Presentation is handled through skins (plugins), with roughly ten bundled and more available for install; some skins add Google Maps, video playback, or shopping cart integration with PayPal, Google Checkout and Fotomoto. An embedded FTP client handles uploads, and password protection can restrict gallery access. Integrations include a WordPress bridge plugin and a Lightroom Classic plugin, with support for AVIF, conversion of over 160 video formats to MP4, and XMP metadata compatibility with Photoshop, Lightroom and Bridge.
jAlbum is aimed at photographers, organizations, families, event photographers, hobbyists, bloggers and sellers who need portfolios, client galleries or full photo sites. The application is free to download, with a free edition limited to 24 objects per gallery. Paid options include Standard and Pro licenses for use on your own hosting, sold in 1, 12 or 24 month terms with 12 months of free updates, and storage accounts (Premium, Power, Super) that bundle a license with hosted storage in tiered capacities. Multi-user and school licensing discounts are available by seat count.
