Inbound is an email routing service that directs incoming mail to HTTP endpoints, email forwards, cloud storage buckets, or Zapier. It is designed for handling inbound email that needs to be filtered, parsed, and delivered to downstream systems rather than read manually. Setup involves adding DNS entries for a domain or using a provided forwarding address; there is no software to install.
Routing is configured through a Rules Engine with filters on TO, FROM, Subject, and other email headers, and actions that parse, forward, send via API, store, or discard messages. An interactive capture tool lets users select text boundaries in previously routed email to extract structured data, which can be sent to Google Sheets, Airtable, Salesforce (listed as coming soon), Slack, and other destinations via Zapier. Email is stored temporarily as a cloud object and encrypted database entry during routing, then deleted after delivery, with metadata retained for history.
Inbound is in public beta. It offers a free plan with limited monthly emails, routes, and rules, plus Essentials and Premium editions that scale by email volume with additional routes, rules, integrations, and parsing; Premium adds unlimited routes and rules and priority support. A 14-day trial applies once paid billing begins.
