IBM NS1 Connect is a managed authoritative DNS service that turns DNS into a traffic control plane. It routes users to endpoints based on real-time performance, availability and geography, using health checks and intelligent policies to help prevent outages and reduce latency. It is built on a global anycast network with points of presence across six continents.
Core capabilities include API-first automation with integrations for Terraform, Ansible and CI/CD workflows, multi-CDN steering, global server load balancing, network uptime monitoring, DNS observability, automated HTTPS redirects and certificate management, and DDoS protection for authoritative DNS. DNS Insights is available as an add-on, and Amazon Route 53 synchronization supports cross-provider failover.
NS1 Connect is aimed at DevOps and infrastructure teams managing distributed applications. It is offered through a 30-day free trial and tiered plans — Essentials, Standard and Premium — with usage-based limits on DNS queries, records, monitors and steering chains. Premium adds primary and secondary DNS support, with optional add-ons for Cloud Sync, DDoS protection, Pulsar (RUM/multi-CDN) and dedicated DNS. It can also be purchased through AWS.
