Hanko is an open-source authentication and user management platform for web and mobile applications. It handles sign-in flows, account creation, and user administration, supporting passkeys, passwords, passwordless login, email passcodes, social login, multi-factor authentication, and SSO. It can be deployed on Hanko Cloud, in a private cloud environment, or self-hosted on your own infrastructure.
Integration is handled through Hanko Elements, customizable Web Components for onboarding, login, and account management, or through the Flow API and Frontend SDK for building a custom interface. The Profile Element covers password resets, MFA, passkey management, and session management. Related products include the Passkey API for integrating passkeys into an existing authentication stack and a white-label Authenticator App for iOS and Android with push authentication and a Keycloak plugin. Starter templates are available for frameworks including Next.js, Remix, Nuxt, SvelteKit, React, Vue, Solid, and Symfony.
Hanko Cloud is offered in a free Starter plan with a monthly active user allowance, a Pro plan billed per monthly active user above that allowance, and an Enterprise edition with volume discounts, an uptime SLA, extended audit log retention, and a commercial license option. A startup plan is also available by application. Self-hosted and private cloud deployments are supported, with EU hosting through AWS Frankfurt.
