Guitarix

GNU/Linux Virtual Amplifier

Visit Guitarix

Guitarix is free software licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2. The source code allows building it on other UNIX-like systems, including BSD and MacOSX. Processing is done with minimum latency — on a properly set-up Linux system, sound is processed in no more than 10ms. Beyond built-in effects, users can select plug-ins from the LADSPA and LV2 lists, or route the Jack output to other Jack-aware hosts such as Rakarrack. It can be used to record in DAWs like Ardour, and is also distributed as an LV2 plugin suite for loading amps and plugs directly in a DAW. Although designed with guitar signals in mind, it can also process a synth or other sound sources.
