ForkLift

The most advanced dual pane file manager and file transfer client for macOS.

Visit ForkLift

ForkLift is a dual pane file manager and file transfer client for macOS that brings local drives and remote servers into one interface. It connects to SFTP, FTP, WebDAV, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Rackspace Cloud Files, SMB, AFP and NFS volumes, letting you copy between multiple servers simultaneously with drag and drop. Folder synchronization compares local or remote source and target folders and runs one-way or two-way syncs, while sync browsing mirrors folder structures across panes.

Other capabilities include a preview panel for audio, video, images, PDFs and documents, in-place text editing on local and remote files, archive browsing, tagging, search by name, extension, kind, tags or content, and remote editing that uploads changes as you save. Transfers support reordering, conflict management rules, error handling and bandwidth limits. Git operations such as add, commit, push and pull are built in, alongside command line tool invocation, file comparison with external tools, workspaces, tabs, keyboard control, themes, iCloud favorites sync and opening Terminal, iTerm, Hyper, Kitty, Warp or Ghostty at the current path.

ForkLift is aimed at macOS users managing files across local and remote storage, from everyday transfers to power-user workflows. It is available as a free trial with a paid purchase, and requires macOS 14.6.
