ENS (Ethereum Name Service)

Welcome to the new internet.

Visit ENS (Ethereum Name Service)

ENS is an open naming layer for the internet that replaces long hexadecimal crypto addresses with human-readable names. Names work across chains, apps, and wallets, giving users a consistent identity on different services and platforms. Names are owned directly by the user without intermediaries, and the protocol is governed and developed openly through a community DAO.

The service includes a flexible registry for organizing and managing namespaces, with rules set by the namespace owner. Updating a single record automatically applies to all aliased names, supporting management of many names at once. ENS Explorer is available in beta, and the protocol can be integrated into apps, wallets, and protocols. The homepage notes upcoming ENSV2 and points to a broader ecosystem of integrations built on the naming layer.
