Ebby is an automated transcription platform that converts audio and video files into editable, searchable text. It supports more than 100 languages and dialects, with dialect-specific AI models, and handles common media formats such as MP3, MP4, WAV, M4A, MOV, AVI, AAC, and WMA. Transcripts are produced in roughly half the duration of the recording, with an Expedited Mode available for faster turnaround. The platform is aimed at journalists, podcasters, legal firms, students, researchers, media producers, and other professionals who need transcripts for interviews, meetings, lectures, and recordings.
Core features include an online editor with an integrated media player that highlights text in sync with playback, adjustable playback speed, keyboard shortcuts, auto-save, search and replace, and speaker labels with bulk editing. Automatic punctuation, profanity filtering, timecodes, and low-confidence word highlighting are also available. Transcripts can be exported as Word, PDF, Text, HTML, or CSV, and closed captions can be generated in SRT, VTT, or ASS formats. Sharing is available through read-only links or editable access for team collaboration. Files can be uploaded directly from Google Drive, Dropbox, or Box, with a maximum file size of 10GB and no storage limit. Zapier integration connects the platform to thousands of apps, and a Speech To Text API allows the transcription engine to be embedded in other products. Recordings and transcripts are processed by machine transcription only, with encrypted upload and storage.
Ebby is packaged as pay-as-you-go rather than a monthly subscription. A free trial provides two previews, each transcribing the first two minutes of a recording without requiring a credit card. The standard plan charges per audio minute with volume discounts available, while the PRO plan offers a reduced per-minute rate through a one-time annual license payment that does not automatically renew. Transcription credit does not expire, and a discount is available for nonprofit organizations on the PRO plan.
