Earthly

Engineering guardrails for AI-era development and consistent builds

Visit Earthly

Earthly provides two products for engineering teams: Earthly Lunar, a platform that converts engineering standards, AGENTS.md files, wikis, and compliance documents into deterministic guardrails enforced across pull requests and AI coding tools, and Earthfiles, an open-source build syntax for fast, consistent, portable builds across languages and platforms. Lunar addresses scattered standards, rubber-stamped checklists, and late-stage compliance issues by running guardrails as code rather than prompts, with the same evaluation engine applied at code authoring, pull request, and deploy stages.

Lunar includes agent hooks for real-time self-correction during file edits, PR checks that can block or report per guardrail, deploy gates that verify repo and SHA against policy results, and gradual enforcement from visibility through blocking. It works with GitHub, GitLab, any CI/CD, and AI coding tools including Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex, and complements OPA and Rego. The integration library offers collectors and catalogers covering version control, CI/CD, build tools, containers, code analysis, testing, security, and service catalogs, with over 200 built-in guardrails across reliability, quality, security, and compliance categories. Evidence is captured through adherence dashboards and a continuous audit trail.

Lunar is aimed at platform engineering, SRE, security, and compliance teams managing standards across many repositories, including organizations in defense, fintech, and banking. Earthfiles remains available as an open-source build syntax. The pages describe a demo booking option and an auto-identification tool for guardrails, but do not specify plan tiers, trials, or pricing structure.
