ClyoCloud

ClyoCloud is a personal cloud storage and media management application designed to organize image and video libraries without relying on a centralized database. Instead of storing metadata in a database, it writes information such as tags, descriptions, and collection assignments to sidecar JSON files placed alongside each media file. This approach eliminates database administration and ensures that metadata remains portable with the files themselves.

The application includes a tagging system for categorizing images and videos, collections and favorites for grouping and highlighting key files, and an in-memory tag index that rebuilds on startup for fast search lookups. It provides an HTTP range video server for seamless video seeking, generates thumbnails using FFmpeg and FFprobe, and supports public share links with unauthenticated tokens. Authentication is handled via JWT cookies with optional TOTP two-factor authentication, and a remote media downloader integrates yt-dlp for fetching videos. Mobile clients are available for Android, including a media viewer and a wallpaper sync tool that uses QR-based device token authentication.

ClyoCloud is intended for individuals who want to self-host their media libraries with full file portability and no database overhead. It can be installed on Arch Linux via the AUR or on other Linux distributions using a universal installer script. The application is configured through environment variables and does not mention a free plan, trial, or specific licensing editions.
