BackNine is a general agency platform for life insurance, annuities, disability, and long-term care that brings case management, quoting, and applications into a single cloud-based workflow. It supports agents and agencies from submission through commission, with contracting handled inside the platform and carrier appointments processed as part of the service.

The platform includes BOSS, a real-time case management system with reporting and commission schedules, and Quote & Apply, a multi-carrier quoting and eApplication tool with eSignature. It connects with agency systems including Applied/EZLynx, HawkSoft, InsuranceGig, MedicarePro CRM, NowCerts, Redtail, Singular by Patrina, Vertafore AMS360 and PL Rating, Wealthbox, and Zapier, and is hosted on AWS with SOC 2 Type 2 compliance.

BackNine serves individual agents, insurance agencies, and vertical markets such as banks and credit unions. Agents can use the platform at no direct cost, with BackNine earning a general agent commission from carriers; a SaaS option is available for BGAs, IMOs, and agents using their own general agency contracts, which carries a setup fee and additional fees.
