Appsmith is an open-source low-code platform for building custom applications such as admin panels, dashboards, and internal tools. It connects to databases, SaaS tools, and REST/GraphQL APIs, and provides drag-and-drop widgets for building responsive UIs. Logic and data transformation are handled in JavaScript, with the option to use natural language prompts. It supports Git-based version control.
The platform includes an IDE for managing variables, functions, and logic, copilots for generating code from natural language prompts, and support for importing external JavaScript libraries. It offers Git integration for version control and environment branch-based deployments, self-hosting with air-gapped options, SAML and OIDC SSO, SCIM-based user provisioning, role-based access controls, audit logging, and embedding within existing apps. It runs on cloud or self-hosted infrastructure.
Appsmith is aimed at developers and teams building internal tools. It is packaged as a free Community Edition under Apache 2.0, a Free cloud tier for up to 5 users, a seat-based Business plan, and an Enterprise plan with advanced security and support features. New signups receive a 15-day trial of Business.
