Visit Abyss Web Server

Abyss Web Server is a compact web server for Windows, macOS and Linux that hosts websites on your own computer. It supports HTTP/2, SSL/TLS (HTTPS) with automated free certificates from ACME-compliant authorities such as Let's Encrypt, and runs PHP, Perl, Python, ASP.NET, and Ruby on Rails applications backed by databases like MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQLite, MS SQL Server, or Oracle. It also offers reverse proxying for Tomcat, Jetty, node.js, and ASP.NET Core Kestrel, along with virtual hosting, password protection, bandwidth controls, and custom directory listings.

Configuration is handled through a web-based console accessible locally or remotely, available in multiple languages. The server includes an anti-crash mechanism (APX), anti-hacking and anti-leeching protections, XSSI support, on-the-fly HTTP compression, and IDN/Unicode compliance. It ships in both 32-bit and 64-bit editions, with a Universal 2 macOS build covering Intel and Apple silicon.

Abyss Web Server comes in two editions: Personal Edition X1, which is free, and Professional Edition X2, which adds capabilities such as virtual hosting and finer-grained bandwidth control.
